You up for a ball with candles?
At the beginning of the 20th century, in the Landes of Gascony, balls with only one musician were almost the norm. Often with a violin, it could last for hours, the repertoire was adapted to the context, the cadence had to be perfect.
Camille’s ball will plunge you into the depths of the folk music from the Landes of Gascony, at the same time rooted and intimate, both soft and rough, simple and in tune with the dancers.
Camille has been working for a decade on the Gascon repertoire, he is passionate about the relationship between music and dance, he is particularly interested in the question of the cadence, as well as in creativity in folk music.
You will be able to dance rondeaus, congos, waltzes, mazurkas… and to experience the music/dance osmosis to the sound of violins (he uses several tunings in order to vary the sound).
